This person has a choice to make. Neither of the options are good. Who will suffer and why? What’s the choice they have to make?
Populate your song with:
- What’s happening and why
- Who character is
- The decision that they have to make
- Surprise us with a new insight in the middle eight
- Help us feel the conflict using the music
- Perhaps represent the two choices in the music
Tell the story in the verses and convey the emotion in the chorus. Surprise us in the bridge by giving us a whole new perspective on what happened.
